ROAD FC 48: RYO bumped to defending champ vs La In-Jae


ROAD FC 48 will take place on July 28, 2018 in Wonju, South Korea. The main event was set to be a long-awaited rematch between middleweight champ Cha Jung-Hwan and interim champ Choi Young “RYO”.

Today the promotion announced that Cha ruptured a ligament in his ankle and had to withdraw from the match. Guven that he has not defended his belt since 2016 due to multiple injuries, his title has been recinded. RYO jumps from interim champion to defending champion.

At ROAD FC 48, RYO will face a new opponent in his first defense. La In-Jae has been bumped up to the main event title challenge slot. Previously he was scheduled to face Jeon Uh-Jin. La is undefeated with a record of 7-0-1 and represents Team Korea MMA.
